Terms of Use
Effective date: September 20, 2026
1. Agreement, eligibility and accounts
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Wize LLC ("Wize", "we", "us") for use of WizeBooks and wizebooks.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a business, you agree on that business’s behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.
You must be at least 18 to use the Service. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in details, passkeys and second factor secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@wizebooks.com if you think your account has been compromised.
2. Company workspaces and roles
Each business in WizeBooks is a separate company. A company’s owner and administrators control who is invited, what role each member has, and whether two-factor authentication is required. The owner is responsible for the people they invite and for removing access when someone should no longer have it. We are not responsible for actions taken by members a company has invited.
3. Subscriptions and payment
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown at wizebooks.com/pricing.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in the app, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. The new price applies from your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, we may limit the account to read-only access until it’s paid. You will still be able to export your data.
4. Your data and backups
You own your data. The financial records, documents and other content you put into WizeBooks remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You’re responsible for your records. You’re responsible for the accuracy of what you enter or approve, and for keeping any records the law requires of your business.
Backups. We back up the Service regularly, but backups are for our disaster recovery and are not a guaranteed way to reverse your own changes. You can download an encrypted backup of a company. It needs a password to open, and we can’t recover a lost password. Once you download a backup, keeping it safe is your responsibility. Restoring a backup into a company that is still active in WizeBooks requires access to that company.
After you leave. You can export your data while your account is open. After closure we keep data for 30 days, and archive deleted companies for one year, as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Bank connections, AI features and third-party services
Bank connections. Bank feeds are provided through Plaid. By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid to access it in line with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Bank data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and a connection can stop working when a bank changes its systems. Check imported transactions against your bank statements.
AI features. Some features use AI to read documents you upload and suggest entries. Suggestions can be wrong. You’re responsible for reviewing them before you rely on them.
Other services. The Service relies on third parties such as Plaid, Stripe and our hosting providers. We aren’t responsible for their services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, including fraud, money laundering or hiding income;
- enter information you don’t have the right to use;
- try to access another company’s data, or any account or system you’re not authorized to use;
- probe, scan or test the Service’s security without our written permission;
- disrupt the Service or put an unreasonable load on it, including through automated scraping;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows;
- upload malware or harmful code.
If you find a security issue, please report it to support@wizebooks.com.
7. Not accounting, tax or legal advice
WizeBooks is a tool for keeping books. It does not give accounting, tax, legal or financial advice, and reports it produces are not a substitute for a qualified professional. You’re responsible for your filings, tax returns and business decisions.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
We may suspend or close an account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, don’t pay, or if we must do so to protect the Service, other users or to comply with the law. Where we reasonably can, we’ll give notice first and a chance to export your data.
Sections 4, 7, 9 and 10 continue to apply after an account is closed.
9. Disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity
Disclaimer. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WIZE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T PROMISE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT BANK DATA OR AI SUGGESTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE.
Limitation of liability. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WIZE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL. WIZE’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR US$100.
Indemnity. You agree to defend and indemnify Wize against third-party claims arising from your content, your misuse of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Governing law, changes and contact
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes. We may update these Terms. For a material change, we’ll notify account owners by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
General. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Wize about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
